Stars behind the Scenes rewards those employees that consistently embrace and exemplify our Smollan Values. These are the people behind the scenes, our office-based staff and unsung heroes, that work tirelessly to support and bolster our teams making sure that ‘business as usual’ is as seamless as can be.
HOW IT WORKS
For this award employees are measured against how they embrace and exemplify our seven Smollan Values:

Each nominee is scored across the seven Smollan Values using the following key:
1 = SELDOM
Seldom acts in this manner.
2 = SOMETIMES
Sometimes acts in this manner.
3 = OFTEN
Frequently acts in this manner and I can think of a recent example.
4 = ALWAYS
Always behaves in this way. This person is a role model in the business*
Each nominee is scored across the five Brilliant Basics using the following key:
*In the case of a score of 4, the nominator is required to provide a 100 word (or less) motivation for the score, illustrating actual examples. The nominator may also upload a portfolio of evidence to support the nomination.
Nominations can be peer nominations, nominations by a Line Manager or a nomination by a direct report.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
This award category is open to all full-time employees of Smollan or one of the Group’s subsidiary companies.
- Nominees must be office based and working in one of the internal support functions namely: Growth & Innovation, HR, Finance, IT, Marketing and Communications.
- Employees must be C band and above however in-office B band employees are eligible.
- Field Managers, Divisional Managers and Regional Managers, are also eligible to be nominated for this award.
